Eleanor's obituary
Eleanor May Iacobelli, 91, passed away on October 29, 2025, dearly loved by her family.
She was born in Akron, Ohio, and grew up with the values of hard work, perseverance, and devotion to family that would guide her entire life. After graduating from Kent State University, she dedicated many years to being a homemaker, creating a warm, steady, and loving home for her children. Later in life, she began a second career in office administration, bringing the same attention to detail and integrity she had always shown her family.
She is survived by two of her three sons, Joseph (Elizabeth) and Andrew; her sister, Frances Schiavone; her nine grandchildren, Annaliese, Amelia, Andrew, Jonathan, Marissa, Matthew, Michael, Sophia, and Victoria; and her five great-grandchildren, Abigail, Adelina, Elliott, Juliette, and Luca. She was preceded in death by her beloved son, Christopher (Deana), who remained always in her heart.
She was profoundly proud of her family and took joy in every milestone, celebration, and ordinary day spent together. Those who knew her will remember her for her quiet strength, her loyalty to the people she loved, and her ability to listen, advise, and support without judgment. Whether managing a household, encouraging others in difficult moments, or embracing a new professional chapter later in life, she led with steadiness and grace.
A Mass and burial service will be held at Our Lady of Angels Catholic Church in Lakewood Ranch, Florida, at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 22, 2025.
She leaves behind a legacy of love, resilience, and family connection that will continue through her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who were fortunate enough to know her.
