Judy's obituary
Known to family and friends as Judy, Eleanor Judith Barber passed away on June 21st, 2022 from heart complications and Alzheimers. The past few years were hard from the loss of her husband and that link to the memories she held onto while in the end stage of the disease. There is comfort in knowing that she is now at peace and with him and their 1st child, Elizabeth, where they will be buried along side in Joy Cemetery.
Now the fun because Judy was a fun, loving person to be around. She loved to make you laugh, create dance moves and was so creative. She used that creativity for gifts for her coworkers, friends and family. Her absolute pleasure was figuring out the puzzle of a quilt and always belonged to a quilting community and even won a few awards for her craft.
Judy will always be remembered for her love of all people and the kindness she brought into the world.
Poem for my mom:
A 1000 stitches
Needles, paper, swatches of fabric
Fill the room
Ducks dressed as little girls, Paris a memory
No place for a vacuum
The wonder of the creation, the bonding of souls
The fire that ignites us and the laughter that fills the halls
There was a time I was offered wine
For an 8am conference call
It was offered with a smile and a small giggle
Because she could see it all
She knew me when I didn't know myself
Always hated that
But now I’m holding onto the memories
With tears through a smile
A moonwalk dance on the terrace
As she moves and says rat tat tat
