Elaine Ann Welker, age 71, passed away Saturday August 8, 2020 while at Jupiter Medical Center.

Elaine was born in Buffalo, NY to Jean (Quatrani) and Vincent Priore. She grew up with two younger siblings, Louis Priore and Jeanie (Priore) Shearer, as well as countless cousins and other relatives.

She graduated from SUNY College at Buffalo with a BS in Education. She met her husband Robert Welker, and they were married in 1974. They decided to leave the cold climate and moved to Florida in 1979. Their daughter, Nicole, was born soon after in 1981.

Elaine was a wonderful teacher and taught many grade levels from kindergarten through high school. She went back to school to become a Media Specialist and earned her Master’s Degree. She spent the majority of her career teaching at Saint Joseph’s in Stuart, FL and John Carroll High School in Fort Pierce, FL before retiring. She enjoyed her retirement by swimming daily and floating in the pool while reading her books, gardening, going to trivia, going out to dinner and the movies, and of course - shopping!

Elaine was a member of Saint Lucie Catholic Church and served as a Eucharistic Minister at St Joseph Catholic Church in Stuart. She never lost her faith and received last rites in the hospital the day before her passing.

Elaine is survived by her husband, Robert Welker, daughter, Nicole Welker, mother, Jean Priore, brother, Louis Priore, and sister, Jeanie Shearer (Brad).
