Elaine Louisa Quan passed away on August 19, 2022 in Fort Myers, Florida.

Elaine was born in La Jolla, California to John and Sylvia Quan on November 2nd, 1973. She attended Esperanza Highschool and graduated from UC San Diego in 1995 with a Bachelor of Science. She went on to earn a Doctor of Optometry degree from the Illinois College of Optometry in Chicago in 2000. Shortly after graduation she settled in Fort Myers and began practicing optometry with her classmate and husband, Michael Pham. In the clinic Elaine was a brilliant clinician and well loved by her patients. At home she was a tireless educator who helped shape and enrich the lives of her three children with teachings in the arts and sciences.

Elaine is survived by her husband, Michael Pham, children Eric, Anthony and Elisa, her parents John and Sylvia Quan, sister and family Deanna, Howard, and nieces Madeline and Caroline.

Toward the end of her cancer journey, we researched and found therapeutic agents that enhanced her current treatment. To everyone's surprise, Elaine was actually beating late stage cancer. We strongly believe that Elaine's data and story will help other cancer patients.
