Elaine's obituary

Elaine A. (Gillan) Maisel, 68, passed away on Friday, May 3, 2024, at Lawrence General Hospital, in Lawrence, MA. Elaine was born in Cambridge, MA, on October 8, 1955, the daughter of the late Harold and Mary (Costello) Gillan. She has been residing on the West Coast of Florida for the past 17 years, where she was an active member of her community HOA. Prior to this, she resided in Lawrence, MA.

Elaine spent her career as a nurse for 35 years, after earning her Associates of Nursing from Pasco Hernando Community College. Elaine had a passion for caregiving and enjoyed hearing about her patients' life stories. Her hobbies included baking, crafting, and Bingo. Elaine loved supporting her children, whether it be as dance mom, sports mom, or even as a Girl Scout Troop Leader. She also cherished her time at home with her husband.

Elaine is survived by her husband of 38 years, Wayne J. Maisel, her children Megan (Maisel) Felton and her husband Terance Felton, Nicholas Maisel and his girlfriend Kelly Dietsch, and Ashley (Maisel) Zerpa and her husband Gerson Eduardo Zerpa, and her granddaughter Mackenzie Maisel. Elaine was predeceased by her parents, Harold and Mary (Costello) Gillan, as well as all her siblings which total 4 brothers and 4 sisters, including Caroline, Mary Elizabeth, and Janice, of whom she was very close.

Elaine will be remembered for her kind and compassionate nature, her love for her family, and her passion for nursing. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. It was Elaine’s wish to not have any formal services, and in lieu of flowers, please make a donation to The National Kidney Foundation.
