Eileen's obituary

Eileen Shea Necas, 77, of Wilmette, IL, passed away peacefully on the evening of April 5th in Chicago. She joins her husband Mike Necas who passed away 2 years ago. She was born on January 25th in 1948 to Joseph and Sylvia Shea in Wilmette, IL. She was the fourth of five of children with older sisters Mary Beth, Joanne and Kathy and her younger brother Danny.

Eileen and Mike married in November of 1969 in Chicago and (after a couple years in Arlington, TX) started a family in the quiet Chicago suburb of Prospect Heights where they had 3 sons - Michael, Keil and Sean. They lived an idyllic life with story-riddled annual vacations (all driving), all the while living very happy lives.

Eileen had an adventurous and enjoyable career path. First starting out in banking and then being a stay-at-home mother to her 3 sons. Once they were all in school, she became the animal warden of Prospect Heights, IL where she answered the call of residents dealing with wild animal issues. It was a job that the entire family participated in and allowed for even more hilarious stories. She then found her calling helping children and young adults find suitable foster homes in the Chicagoland area. Eileen and Mike eventually branched out and started their own 5-acre alpaca ranch back in the early 2000’s. Even more stories to look back and laugh at. That endeavor lasted several years before they eventually moved to Asheville, NC for the last few years of their lives.

The greatest joy in Eileen's life was her family and friends. She had a calm, quiet presence and was always ready to listen without judgement. She had a generous spirit and everything was better with her there. May her memory bring comfort to all who knew her. Eileen is survived by her beloved children: Michael and his wife Amy, Keil and Sean and his wife Carolyn. She was a proud and devoted grandmother to Mia, Charlie, Luci, Michael, Tessa, Melody, Nathan, Maverick and Declan. Eileen is also survived by her sister Kathy and brother Danny.
