Dale's obituary
On Wednesday, March 27 2024, Dale Thompson passed away at his home in New Braunfels, Texas after a prolonged fight with aggressive prostate cancer.
Dale was born and raised in Georgia and in his teenage years, he came to know Jesus Christ, whom he followed faithfully for the rest of his life. As a student at Atlanta Christian College, he met and then married the love of his life, Margie. Following his graduation, Dale was ordained as a minister in the Christian Church. He served in this pastoral role professionally for a few years, and voluntarily as needed for decades. Dale always said he could learn to do just about anything if he devoted the appropriate time to learning it. This life philosophy led to operating Chick-fil-A franchises, successfully opening and running his own restaurant for 13 years, designing and building his family’s home, renovating a century-old house, creating logistical systems for a construction company, playing any stringed instrument he chose to learn, creating beautiful visual artwork, and numerous other endeavors. As expertly as he performed each of these roles, they all paled in comparison to his devotion to Christ and to his family. Dale was an exceptional model of servant leadership, which he demonstrated in every relationship. His love for others, endless optimism, dad jokes, and desire to share God’s love drew all sorts of people to him, and those who knew him were better for it.
Dale is survived by his wife, Margie; son, Ryan (and his wife, Trish); daughter, Erin; brother, Lee; sister, Peggy; and grandsons, Josiah and Asher.
