1987
After my Dad's funeral in 1987, the family all went back to our house on Chidsey Avenue for a nice luncheon. Most of the food was provided by our wonderful neighbors and Mom's "bridge club" friends, however, she still managed to get involved. Here is Eddie coming in from the kitchen with his mouth full of delicious food. I think that is either Wendy or Sally Smigel standing in the doorway.

1943, East Haven, CT, USA
Shirley (12), Betty (14) and Eddie (8) in our home in 1943---two years before I was born. My parents had that home built BEFORE they were married, and then they were married by a minister while standing in front of the fireplace. It was their home throughout their married life!

1993, San Diego, CA, USA
My brother was a brilliant inventor!! He actually told a funny story about how he was finally able to weld titanium---something which had been very difficult or impossible previously. After one more failed attempt, he said a bad word and spit on the place where he was trying to weld---and it worked. The salt water in the spit was the missing component. Sometimes "genius" is just a result of frustration and persistence!

1996
After Shirley's husband, Stan, died in 1996, we talked her into going on a cruise with Brenda, Phil, Ed, and Mary. She brought along her friend, Mary (?), with her. We had a wonderful time and enjoyed cruising the Caribbean for about a week. We ate lots of seafood which keep Ed and me in "heaven" the whole time!

2000, Western United States
Ed and Mary moved to Arizona in the year 2000. It's not that they didn't like San Diego, but Central Arizona (Tucson area) had the alure of being on the bird migration path. Every year they participated in the annual bird count, and Ed's sisters, Betty and Shirley, also came to visit to watch the birds. Ed and Mary also traveled around the world to catch the more exotic species.
Orchids, orchids EVERYWHERE! …
1980, San Diego, CA, USA
Orchids, orchids EVERYWHERE! Ed had one of the finest orchid collections in the area. His whole house was covered with orchid plants in various stages of growth. It was a beautiful thing to behold!

The whole family attended my parent's 40th Anniversary Celebration in East Haven. Eddie and Greg are on the ends of the front row. Mary and Ed are in the back row. Other kids pictured are Nancy, Donna, Suzanne and Robin Wotton, as well as John, Wendy and Sally Smigel.

1992, Knott's Berry Farm, Beach Boulevard, Buena Park, CA, USA
Summertime for the Frandsen girls meant a trip (2 at a time) to visit Aunt Mary and Uncle Ed. Aunt Mary made the rounds with the girls to all the amusement parks and other local attractions. Uncle Ed paid for it all!!

"The Credible Hulk" - When Gregory Booth Post came back from Army Ranger training, he was HUGE!! But he still had a great interest in teasing his little cousins. Look at the adoration in Lisa Frandsen Stonehocker's face!!

1957, East Haven, CT, USA
This photo captures an important moment!! Ed brought his new girl friend, Mary Kukkula, home for Sunday dinner with the whole family. We LOVED her immediately, especially me. I couldn't cuddle up close enough---practically sitting on her lap! — with Stanley Smigel, Shirley Post Smigel, Mariette Post, Brenda Post Frandsen, Mary Kukkula Post, Edwin Earle Post, Nancy Wotton Scarzello, Betty Post Wotton and Donna Jean Wotton

Mariette (Booth) Post and Edwin Ernest Post, Ed's beloved parents. This is an interesting "coincidence". Our grandfather, Edwin Abbott Post, died when he was 88 years old. His son, Edwin Ernest Post, died when he was 88 years old. His son, Edwin Earle Post, died when he was 88 years old.

1948, East Haven, CT, USA
Eddie was a terrific big brother to me, his little sister (10 years younger). He did like to tease my friends----especially Judy Carlson [Sittnick]! He liked to hold her upside down by her feet. However, he never caused her any physical harm---just a little "terror" (mostly teasing)!

"Take me out to the ball game". Our dad was so happy to have a son who could enjoy sports with him. Ed started playing early, and was one of only 3 high school graduates that received a 3-sport trophy at graduation.

1982, San Diego, CA, USA
Our annual Christmas in San Diego with the Posts. When our kids were young, we were poor and couldn't really afford to do much for Christmas. Mary worked hard all year buying gifts for our 5 (later 6) daughters. They really loved Uncle Ed and Aunt Mary----and their two big boy cousins!
