It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Edwin "Jacob" Smith, who took his own life on September 6, 2023 after battling with paranoid schizophrenia. He was born on August 14, 1998, and left an indelible imprint on all who were fortunate enough to know him.

Jacob spent his early years in Surprise, Arizona, where he graduated high school in 2016. He achieved a B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering from Northern Arizona University and went on to pursue his Master's of Science in Mechanical Engineering in 2020. In 2021, Jacob continued his studies in Castalian Springs, TN.

His funny and sweet personality made him a joy to be around. Jacob kept his friends and family guessing with his brilliant curiosity and how creatively he viewed the world. He led an active lifestyle at the golf course and the gym, and loved the rush of daring activities such as cliff jumping and longboarding.

Jacob had many accomplishments that he and his family were very proud of. He was a talented golfer, a profitable crypto investor, and his ingenuity in constructing things was admirable. His intellectual curiosity and selfless disposition will continue to inspire others.

In the face of loss, it is the love, respect, and admiration we all have for Jacob that we remember most. He was deeply loved and will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

As we bid farewell to Jacob, we remember his beautiful soul, and take comfort in the knowledge that his memory will live on in our hearts.
