2012, Majestic Theatre, King Street, Madison, WI, USA
Dad always was a lover of music, an amazing pianist, and an overall jovial sort of guy who would make the whole room burst in laughter. As children, most of my memories are from living in Western NC on the property of a gem mine. We had built a flume wrapping around the house, and Dad taught me how to identify many types of gems found on the family property. Dad instilled in me a love for rocks and gemstones, and this year, I was able to start my own rock collection at 33 years old. He would be proud. :)
Back in 2012, I have memories of my father flying to Madison, WI for a visit. It was Dad's first time in WI. I lived in a studio right by Lake Mendota where he stayed with me for a few days. Dad and I had a great time exploring all that Madison had to offer, and I am glad I was able to show him the city I so dearly love. I made him eat cheese curds for the first time, and I took him the Piano Bar downtown. Dad and I went to hear the up and coming Mat Kearney outside the Majestic Theatre in downtown Madison. Since that concert, I have always followed Mat's music. I will post the link to one of the song we heard at that show back in 2012. The words resonate with me now, and I'll always have this song to remind me of my dad.

I would like to personally extend my gratitude to all my friends who have shown up for me and expressed their condolences. I am also extremely thankful to hear from many of my Dad's friends and hear stories about his last years of life. Thank you, everyone, for reading.

Happy Easter Ed.
John 11:25-26 NIV Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die; and whoever lives by believing in me will never die. Do you believe this?”

I was so incredibly sad to hear about Mr. Ed’s passing. I’ll always remember his passion for music and how he would show me the music he’d been working on. His overall compassion and general care for the people around him. A joyous man with a hearty laugh that’d get anyone to laugh with him. Truly an upstanding person and we will all mourn his loss.
