I worked with Ed on the a USAID project in southern Vietnam. I loved Ed's sensibility and down to Earth approach to anything and everything. In spite of his serious professionalism, he was quick to laugh at a joke and had one or two up his sleeve to keep things lively. He talked endlessly about his wife and daughter, and I'd only met Ed in person two or three times, so you know he was quite the passionate family man (I talk endlessly too, so no judgement at all!). I'll miss him. Honestly, I looked forward to the next trip down south just to get to know him better... I wish I knew he was into trains... I used to have a grand N-scale set growing up. It would have made for great conversation and maybe an invite to see his awe-inspiring table! All the best to you, Ed, and all the best to your family.
