Edward's obituary
Edward (Ed) James Veilleux, 80, of Baltimore, passed away peacefully on May 21st, 2024 surrounded by his loving family. He was born August 26th, 1943 in Medford, Massachusetts to Isabel and Paul Veilleux.
Known for his genuine kindness, boundless generosity, and infectious humor Ed was dedicated to providing the best possible life for his wife and children as well as serving the community that he lived in.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Gail Patricia Veilleux: by his children Christopher (Crystal) Veilleux, Jean Paul (Meredith) Veilleux, Marielle Veilleux, Allison Veilleux, Noelle (Rory) Maher, and Suzanne Fenix; by his 11 grandchildren Gracie, Caitlyn, Charlotte, Michaela, Courtney, Gianna, Adam, Carson, Emma, Brayden, and Clive; by his brother Richard (Kristine) Veilleux and his brother-in-law Peter Budryk. He is predeceased by his sister Elinor Budryk.
Family was at the heart of everything Ed did. His happiest day was the day that he married his wife, Gail. Their love story remains a testament to enduring partnership and mutual support. As a father, Ed was a source of strength and guidance for his children, instilling in them the values of integrity, kindness, and the importance of family. His 11 grandchildren were his pride and joy, and he cherished every moment spent with them.
Throughout his life, Ed excelled in his career, distinguished in both business and philanthropy. He served in the United States Navy as Yeoman to a 2-star Admiral. Ed worked at Alex Brown & Sons/Deutsche Bank for nearly 40 years, followed by operating as Chief Compliance Officer for his company, EJV Financials Services, until his retirement in 2018. Ed was actively involved in numerous community service projects and charitable organizations, always striving to make a positive impact on the lives of others. Whether it was through his 16 years on the Board (10 years as Chairman) at the Maryland School for the Blind, or as a devoted member and Chairman of the Building and Property Committee for the Catholic Community of St. Francis Xavier, his compassion and selflessness touched countless lives.
He was revered by family, friends, and all those that he worked with. He will be deeply missed, but never forgotten.
A funeral service will be held at the Catholic Community of St. Francis Xavier on Thursday, June 6th at 11am with a visitation starting at 10am. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to The Maryland School for the Blind in Ed’s honor.
