Edward and Maelisbeth Pope (my name then) met in 1954 when I moved back to Chicago from Michigan City, IN.  We met at Morning Star Baptist Church where we both sang in the Youth Choir.   In 1955, we started dating and in June 1956, he escorted me to my Prom at Hyde Park  High School.  We kept in touch over the years and he met my husband and children.  I would call him on his birthday every year.
