That time Ed, Maciej, and I drove from Gainesville to New Orleans in a van with a microscope.

So sad to hear of Ed's passing. A wonderful colleague. May his memory be a blessing.

My condolences to Kim and the whole Stack family. I can’t say I knew Ed well but every time with him was a great time - his energy and his smile. Rest In Peace sir!

We all loved Ed. He was inspiring and common despite being so educated and capable. We lost a great man that suffered more than most and will never be forgotten.

Ed was a brilliant scientist, an amazing colleague and most importantly a great friend. I miss him tremendously but know I am fortunate to have been able to call him a friend. Shine bright Ed, hope the powder is soft, the sky is blue and the scotch is sweet.

Kim,
I am so very sorry for your loss. I have fond memories of you and Ed together though I am sorry we have lost touch over the years. I found this beautiful picture of the two of you from our wedding and wanted to share it. May his memory be a blessing.

I'm not even sure how to write one of these...how do you capture a person in a mere words? Ed was one-of-a-kind...funny, witty, generous and loving. I met him when he started dating Kim and I was deciding on colleges...ending up at BC - one of his alma maters. Ed and Kim quickly became a unit in my mind - one in the same...both were equally family. You both were "my people" when I was in Boston. I knew I had a place to get away from school and find good food and good laughs. Ed and I spent many a drives in the car from BC to Marshfield...because he never hesitated to come pick me up if I needed a break. You were the place I went after a devastating break up where we drank hot chocolate in the kitchen and plotted good-hearted revenge. :)
Adam and I are so grateful to have spent time these last three years with Kim and Ed. While the circumstances of our reconnection totally sucked (there is no other way to put that), we feel truly lucky to have spent quality, uninterrupted time with you both. Our kids loved you instantly...and made themselves right at home! Ed never batted an eye when it looked like a bomb had gone off as we descended on Scituate with enough luggage to last a month. In fact, he claims to have enjoyed it. :) Japanese whiskey, red wine, sushi, all the cheeses, lemon almonds, coffee around the breakfast table, Marvel movies, deck sitting, driving tours of the coast. Such small connections of normalcy that we could enjoy together no matter his strength.
Kim, you are so very loved by our family. You are "our people" and we are happy to have more time to spend with you.
Ed, you will be carried with us through life. We will look for the echoes of you in all that you loved. Because of you, we will remember to live as fully as possible and love our people fiercely. You will always be missed...and never forgotten.
xoxo, Jaime, Adam, Jackson and Avery
