dward “Perk” Pyskoty, 77, formerly of Oplinger Towers, Nanticoke, and New
York, died Wednesday at the East Mountain Manor Nursing Center, Wilkes-Barre.
Born July 17, 1923, in Newport Township, he was a son of the late George
and Helen (Frankiewicz) Pyskoty. He attended the Newport Township schools. He
worked in the ice cream business with the Good Humor Corp. in New York. He was
a member of the Hanover Township Veterans of Foreign Wars.
He was preceded in death by his brothers, Ted and Frank Pyskoty and John
Stawasz; and sisters, Mary Petroski and Josephine Wojciechowski.
Surviving are his sisters, Victoria Price, Plains Township; Stella Davis,
Nanticoke; Frances Kasiem and Helen Gmoch, both of Toms River, N.J.; and Jenny
Walenziewicz, Hazlet, N.J.; brother, Andrew, Nanticoke; nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be at 9:30 a.m. Saturday from the Stanley S. Stegura
Funeral Home Inc., 614 S. Hanover St., Nanticoke, with a Mass of Christian
Burial at 10 a.m. at Holy Trinity Church, Nanticoke. Interment will be in the
parish cemetery, Newport Township. Calling hours will be private for the
family.
