Edward's obituary
Born on January 7, 1961, in Staten Island, New York, Eddie lived a life defined by loyalty, kindness, and deep devotion to those he cherished. A proud graduate of Monsignor Farrell High School, he went on to serve the United States Postal Service with integrity and dedication for 35 years.
Eddie was a devoted husband to his wife, Susan, a proud father to his daughters, Courtney and Caitlyn, and a loving grandfather to Nathaniel and Gianna, who brought him immense joy.
A passionate and well-known figure in the community, he served as a basketball coach for many years and was deeply committed to mentoring countless young athletes, leaving a lasting impact both on and off the court. An avid Notre Dame fan, he could often be found cheering for the Fighting Irish and sharing that enthusiasm with everyone around him.
Among those feelings of profound loss is his grandson, Nate, who shared a uniquely close bond with him — not just as a grandfather, but as a guiding father figure. Eddie taught Nate the game of baseball, not only with skill, but with patience, love, and life lessons that extended far beyond the field. Together, they spent countless hours playing catch, swimming, and cheering for the Yankees. His influence shaped the man his grandson is becoming, and his memory will forever live on in every swing of the bat, every game played, and every quiet moment when a voice of wisdom is needed.
Eddie will be remembered for his warm smile, big personality, and big heart. He cherished moments spent with family, embraced life with quiet strength, and inspired those around him with loyalty, compassion, and love.
He is survived by his wife, Susan; daughters, Courtney and Caitlyn; grandson, Nathaniel; granddaughter, Gianna; brothers, Drew and Kevin; his best friend and brother‑in‑law, Steve DeCastro; and brother‑in‑law, Jimmy DeCastro.
A memorial service to honor and celebrate Eddie’s life will be held on Saturday, June 28, 2025, at 12:30 PM at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church in Palm Coast, Florida.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to support Susan during this difficult time. To contribute, please visit the GoFundMe page: https://www.gofundme.com/f/ea…
Though he is no longer with us, Eddie’s legacy will live on in the countless lives he touched. He will be forever missed and always remembered.
