Edward's obituary
It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Edward "Mark" Mizzell, 41, of Greenville, TN. Mark was born on February 20, 1984, in Richmond, VA, and entered eternal rest on May 2, 2025, after a courageous battle with diabetes, which he fought for most of his life. He passed peacefully following a short illness.
Mark was known for his free spirit, kind heart, and infectious smile. He had an unwavering love for nature and found peace and joy in fishing, often seeking out the quiet corners of the world where he could connect with the beauty of the outdoors. A devoted member of the Greenville C.A.R.E Center, Mark was deeply grateful for the care and support he received, and he spent much of his time giving back to the community that had become like family to him.
Mark's faith was an integral part of his life. He recently made the decision to devote his life to Jesus Christ and was baptized, a testament to the strength and peace he found in his relationship with Jesus.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Tammy Matthews Perks; his grandmother, Earlene "Penny" Davis; his grandfather, Dallas Matthews; and his grandmother, Maggie Mae Fulton.
Mark leaves behind his father and stepmother, Eddie and Amy Mizzell; his cherished daughter, Catherine Mizzell; his sister and brother-in-law, Thera and Kyle Gannaway; his brothers, Ronnie "JR" Jones Jr. and Joshua Mizzell; his grandparents, Ann Daniel and Obie Walker; along with a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends who were blessed to know and love him.
Mark's love was big, his spirit strong, and his presence unforgettable. He will be remembered for the joy he brought to the lives of those around him. Though he is no longer with us, we find comfort in knowing he has been welcomed into the arms of his Savior, where he is at peace.
A celebration of life will be held on May 9, 2025 at 5 PM at 766 West Andrew Johnson Highway Greenville, TN 37745, where friends and family are invited to share their memories and honor his legacy.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Greenville C.A.R.E Center in Mark’s memory, as it was a place he held dear
