Eddie's obituary

Edward "Eddie" Hood III, lovingly known as Eddie among family and friends, was born on the 24th of September, 1970.  Eddie, a man of extremes, who was intense, funny, sincere, and incredibly loyalty, passed away on June 19, 2024. Fondly remembered for his favorite activities such as attending concerts, hanging out with loved ones and friends, fishing, smoking, BBQing, riding his Harley, and petting Chloe.  Eddie left an everlasting imprint.

Eddie is survived by his devoted wife Cory Nelson Hood, whom he married in 2020.   He leaves a lasting Hood legacy through his son Dallan and stepchildren.   His sister, Traci, and nephews Daniel and Brandon and their families will long remember his quick wit and intense loyalty.

He is also remembered by Aunts Sherrye and Patricia, as well as Uncle Mike. His Hood cousins Ryan, Mikey, Cameron and Bailey, will cherish the many memories they shared. He was predeceased by his father, Edward Alex Hood.  Eddie is remembered by many friends, and has a special place in the hearts of Keith and Cody, both friends whom he loved like brothers until the very end.

Eddie began working at Porter Signs ten years ago, alongside co-worker and dear friend, Kyle.  Among his greatest accomplishments, he treasured most the presence of his father at his wedding. He was also an avid fan of the Urban Animals.

Eddie's artistic talent was reflected in the many tattoos he sported, and in the original tattoo designs he inked on his wife and many others along his journey. He loved live music, especially hard rock and old school heavy metal genres.  Eddie read books, and was smarter than he let most of us believe. His favorite TV shows, the Simpsons and Family Guy, showcased his humorous side. The Marvel movie series held a special place in his preference.  Eddie had a voracious appetite--above all else, his favorite foods included BBQ, seafood, steaks, and almost any buffet that would allow him to return.

The family invites those who knew Eddie to join us for a Celebration of Life ceremony on July 27, 2024, at 6:00 pm at the  home he shared with Cory, and where Handyma'am is headquartered, at 13504 Hempstead Road, Suite J, Houston, TX 77040

Eddie's legacy is one of loyalty and love.  Those who knew him will fondly remember his unique street wisdom, often encouraging others not to repeat his mistakes. He is our "Very Special Ed", missed dearly for all those little things, like the morning coffee, the "I Love You"s throughout the day, and the protection and security that came with being in his formidable presence.  Eddie was never at a loss for words, and never met a stranger (just like his Dad).  He left his mark on all who encountered him, and will be sorely missed by family,  friends and so many others.
