Edward's obituary
Edward and Dorothy loved to travel via almost any means possible including exploring huge swaths of this continent in their RV. They also travelled extensively all over the world via cars, flights, cruises, and tours, and kept a map with pins highlighting the many, many places that they had travelled. These experiences led to many wonderful stories that Ed loved to share with family and friends. Ed and Dot loved to play cards and enjoyed playing trivia at the Pelican Pointe clubhouse where they were founding members of the “Simply Devine” team. Ed continued to enjoy the trivia games even after moving north to Pennsylvania when Donna and Al Massanti or Dave and Anne Mason worked with Franklin to kindly send him the questions from the previous week’s competition with the designation as the “Simply Griswold” team. Their years in Florida were some of their happiest and they so much appreciated keeping in touch with their wonderful friends and neighbors from Marco, Naples, and Venice.
Edward and Dorothy are survived by their 4 children: Laurie (and Jimmey) Novak, Jeffrey (and Rhonda) Griswold, Beth-Ann Coller (and Kent Harada), and Mark (and Carolyn) Griswold; 7 grandchildren: Alison Novak, Melissa (and Shane) Brennan, Hilary Novak, Wesley (and Kaitlin) Griswold, Lucas Griswold, Caitlin (and Logan) Henderson, and Olivia Griswold; and 1 great-grandchild, Elliot Brennan. Mark and Carolyn Griswold purchased Ed and Dot’s house on San Silvestro Drive and continue the presence of the Griswold family in the Venice community. Funeral services for Edward and internment of both Edward and Dorothy will be held in Connecticut where they both grew up at a date still to be determined. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to American Heart Association (heart.org) in memory of Edward and Dorothy.
