Personal note from Roxane

Dear friends,
Please share comments, photos, photos of paintings, stories etc..... thank you.

If you are not a facebook friend you may not be aware that Ed passed away on August 10th a few minutes after midnight. His heart gave out. He had a Mitral Valve prolapse diagnosed about 20 years ago. The VA told him to come back when he would be short of breath which happened just a few days before he passed. Our plan was to go to NM as soon as he got better but within days he was gone. It was fast, he was coherent till the last minute, he had very minimal suffering and he was at home just the way he wanted. A blessing for him although this is hard for his family and extended family. No time to say goodbyes.
Ed was such a wonderful being and a great artist. He did things his own way as far as Art and he was so creative. Him and I build a little heaven here in Mexico he sit and enjoyed the garden daily. Watched our many visiting birds. And was always in awe at the beauty around him. He donated generously his time and money to various causes and people. He loved Mexico so much that he even became a Nationalized Mexicain. We traveled a lot in the past years we both enjoyed it very much as you may see in the multiple photos we took.
Because of Covid-19 we did not go out much in the past 5 months and we were always together. We would sit together in the hot tub watching the sunset and marveling about how lucky we were to have each other during this difficult time for so many people This time was also a blessing because it left no regrets. We were there for each other completely.
We lived 23 years together almost 24. He was the love of my life.
Rest in peace Edward Philip Gilliam.

Roxane David
His loving wife.
