Ed's obituary
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Edward Corella Jr. on January 31, 2025, in Sherman, Texas. Ed was born on May 15, 1951, in El Centro, California.
Following his service as an Army firefighter and a tour in Vietnam, he worked as a Maintenance Mechanic/Welder until his retirement when he and his wife Bonnie moved to Sherman. Ed was very creative and became skilled at knife-making, leatherwork, and painting. Ed enjoyed music, games – especially on date nights with Bonnie, and boating. Ed loved to go fishing and greatly enjoyed the ocean fishing trips with his buddies.
He is survived by his wife, Bonnie Gilmore; his son, Edward Corella III; his daughter, Maxine Corella; his stepchild, Mina Orem, as well as one brother, five sisters, ten grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father, Edward Corella, and his mother, Carolina Vindiola Corella. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, February 7, 2025, at St. Anne's Catholic Church in Sherman, Texas. He will be entombed at the California Central Coast Veterans Cemetery in Seaside, California. Memorials may be made to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (lls.org) and to Home Hospice of Grayson County (homehospice.org)
