Edward's obituary
Edward Loyal Cantarella of Highland, MI, born January 17th, 1960, passed away at the age of 64 on Friday, July 19th, 2024 in Rochester Hills, MI. Edward was born in Pontiac, Michigan, to the late Anna and Lester Cantarella. Edward was a beloved father, grandfather, and brother, and is survived by his 4 children, Anthony (43), Nicholas (40), Alexandra (33) and Victoria (30), as well as his 3 grandchildren Skylar (18), Aurora (14) and Nicholas (9). Ed found joy in the partnership of marriage, and shared different chapters of his life with former spouses Nancy (dec.) Katherine (dec.) and Teresa.
Edward was a graduate of Pontiac Northern High School in 1978, and went on to attend classes at Oakland Community College focused on computer sciences. Ed was self-driven and entrepreneurial, creating his own web design company, Shimmering Image Productions in the early 2000’s. Ed also developed a strong skill for digital watch repair, forming his company Retro LEDS and honing his skills as a watchsmith over the last 20 years.
Throughout his entire life Ed was an avid musician, with a talent for playing the bass, guitar, piano, and singing. Ed performed in numerous music groups, church praise teams, and often sang solos during communion offerings. A man with a nurturing and creative spirit, Ed deeply enjoyed his hobbies of gardening, cooking, foraging, and creating glass art. His love for life and vibrant presence will be dearly missed.
A private memorial service will be held in Ed’s honor on Saturday, August 10th, 2024.
