Allen's obituary

Edrie Allen Futch Jr. Obituary

With extreme sadness, we announce the passing of Edrie Allen Futch Jr. Allen was a bright spark in this world and will be deeply missed by many.

On Tuesday , November 27, 2022 Allen Futch loving son, brother and cousin passed away at the age of 55. He was born on July 27, 1967, in Monroe La. to Barbara Ann Panzico Millet and Edrie Allen Futch and a loving beloved step father Michael Millet. He resided in Laplace, Louisana with the most wonderful beloved mother Barbara Ann Panzico Millet that we are so thankful for.

Shortly after Allen’s birth, he was diagnosed with Down Syndrome. The doctor told his parents that a Downs child would not live long and would not accomplish much. He suggested Allen be institutionalized. But his parents adamantly refused that suggestion.

Allen was a special person whose friendly personality and beautiful smile made people feel comfortable and at ease to be around someone with Down Syndrome. He was a gentle, funny, clever and an amazing man who lived a full happy life. Most importantly he was loved, and has left a special place in everyone's heart. Everyone knew he was the biggest LSU fan.

Allen was preceded in death by his beloved father Edrie Allen Futch Senior and his amazing mother Barbara Ann Panzico Millet, wonderful stepfather Michael Millet, brother Phillip Vascocu. He is survived by : his siblings, Devonne Ellis (Richard) and Michael Vascocu; and his Uncle Sonny Panzico and Anut Shirley George Carter and his many cousins: Danny Bebee, Dale Bebee, Art Bebee , Lori Panzico, Cindy Panzico, LeeAnn Panzico, Christine Massari, Angelea Hubbard King, Jennifer Ann Sharbono, and his favorite cousin Ree Ree, and Bobby Panzico, Wendy Carter, Misty George Danielle George and Brad Pharis

Dear cousin, as long as my heart beats, you will live on. We grew up together; I always knew I would love you forever. Why didn't our forever last longer. You taught me how to be a friend. Now you are teaching me to grieve a friend. Cousin, you will always be the heart and soul of our family.
