Lorraine's obituary

Edna Lorraine McMillian Whitten (Mimi), age 84, passed away Thursday, October 12th at her home in Grenada, MS. Lorraine was born March 30th, 1939, the oldest daughter to Thomas Jackson McMillian and Edna Mavis Franklin McMillian. She had younger siblings, the late Thomas Lavern McMillian and his wife Kathy, Ronald (Duck) and LaWanda McMillian, Bobby and Sharon McMillian, Mary and Jim Riley, late Johnny McMillian, Tommy (Duke) McMillian, and late Raymond (Tink) McMillian. Lorraine was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Glenn Whitten Sr., of more than 50 years. She is survived by 2 children Raymond (Little Pete) Jr and Wendy Whitten, and Chad Lee Whitten. She is also survived by 6 grandchildren, Amanda Whitten, Raymond Glenn (Trey) and Shelby Whitten, Blake and Amy Whitten, Presley Whitten, Abbie Stephens, and Chad Lee (CJ) Whitten Jr. She was also survived by 4 great grandchildren, Kay, Isaac, Christian, and Addie Grace. Her family will always remember all the good cooking and food for Thanksgiving and Christmas every year. They will forever cherish special memories working in the gardens and in the fields on the property, spending hours talking with their Mimi and will always be thankful for all she’s done to help them along the way. Lorraine will especially be remembered for her fiery spirit and get it done attitude.

Visitation will be Tuesday 11am-12pm closed casket upon her request at Christ Community Church in Grenada, MS. The visitation will be immediately followed by a service at 12pm. Pallbearers will be Raymond Glenn (Little Pete) Whitten Jr, Chad Lee Whitten, Raymond Glenn (Trey) Whitten III, Blake Aaron Whitten, Chad Lee (CJ) Whitten Jr, and Timmy Gore. Honorary Pallbearers are Isaac and Christian Whitten.
