Louise's obituary
January 20, 1951 – October 27, 2025
Louise Green, a beloved aunt, great aunt, friend, and leader, entered into the presence of the Lord on October 27, 2025. She is welcomed home by her parents Rev. Lewis and Edna Green, and her sister Kathy Green Boles. Her memory will be carried by many, including her nephews Brian and Brett (Caitlin) Boles, her great nieces Brianna and Emma Boles, her great nephews Bowden, Luke, and Noah Boles, her brother-in-law Kenneth Boles, and her niece-in-law Amanda Painter.
Louise grew up in Piedmont, AL. She was a cheerleader and a graduate of Piedmont High School in 1969. After high school she moved to Marion, AL to attend Judson College, where she obtained her Bachelor of Science in Psychology and Philosophy. She was a proud graduate of Judson in 1972. A lifelong Alabama fan, she couldn’t pass up the opportunity to earn her Master’s of Social Work degree from the University of Alabama in 1977. Later in her career, she earned her Doctor of Education in Counseling and Social Work from “that other school” Auburn University in 1999. Even though her highest education came from Auburn, she never changed her allegiance from her Crimson Tide.
One of Louise’s greatest joys in life was children and babies. She dedicated more than 37 years of her life to the Alabama Baptist Children’s Homes where she helped countless children thrive in a broken world. She poured much of herself into caring for these children by placing them in loving foster homes and facilitating adoptions into their forever homes. Louise concluded her career at ABCH as the Vice-President of Special Programs in 2017. Even after retirement, her love and work for the children of the community did not end. She regularly bought Christmas and birthday presents for deserving children all over the state.
Louise spent many years as an active member of The Church at Brook Hills and recently became active in the Ladies Ministry at Meadow Brook Baptist Church where she gained many new beloved friends.
While our Aunt Ease is gone from this world, she is celebrating with her Savior and her family in Heaven. Her legacy will live for many years to come, and her life will serve as an example of what it means to “do to the least of these.”
A celebration of life will be held at Meadow Brook Baptist Church in Birmingham, AL on Friday, November 14, 2025. Visitation with Louise’s family will be from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. with the service from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. Visitors are encouraged to wear Crimson Tide red in her honor. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Children’s Ministry at Meadow Brook Baptist Church.
