Edna Gibson Born Oct 22. 1947 and passed away Aug 05, 2019 peacefully in her sleep. She is preceded in death my her husband Donnie Gibson (1987), grandson Brandon Cope (2017) parents Ed and Anna Swearingen, and Brother David Swearingen ( April 2019) and his Son David Swearingen. She is survived by Daughter Tammie Cope and her two children Jeremie Cope and Codie Cope and Grandson Brandon Cope, Son Donnie Gibson II, Brother Ed Swearingen and Wife Toni - along with their 4 children and two grandchildren and Husband Mike Zura, Nephew Nathan Tyr Swearingen and his daughter. Edna was a very outspoken women that would give a friend her last dollar. She lived her life to the fullest traveling- going suba diving, hiking, sightseeing and enjoying her family every chance she got. Edna had a full 71 years on this earth and was a friend to all that knew her. Edna retired and moved to Las Cruses NM to be with her current husband and left behind her family in Alaska. This was hard on everyone but we all traveled both ways to stay in touch. Edna had a great love of Butterflies. She will be buried in the Sitka National cemetery to be with her family. Service will be 8/13 at 530 in Las Cruces at her church and a Celebration of life will be held in Anchorage on 9/11/19 in Viking hall from 6-9pm.
