Edith “Eddy” Joy Ann Roth Hansen was a caring wife, mother, sister, and friend. She left this world after battling early on set dementia on January 14, 2025 at age 67.

She was born to Fredrik and Donna Roth on April 26, 1958. After graduating from Florida State University, Eddy went on to work for a slew of international nonprofit Catholic charities. She regularly traveled to Italy, Greece and eventually Spain where she met her husband, John W. Hansen. Together, they had a son, Ethan.

Eddy loved spending time in the kitchen, creating delicious meals for her family. Neighborhood children would gather around the kitchen table for after-school cookies and loved listening to Eddy’s stories about her travels. She was a skilled pianist and filled her home with classical music. Most weekends were spent as a volunteer at the local soup kitchen and doing crossword puzzles. She was a light in the world to all that knew her.

A funeral service will be held at 3 pm on Saturday January 18, 2025 at the Cathedral of St. Mary at 7525 NW 2nd Avenue Miami, FL.
