Edgar Zarad's obituary
Edgar Zarad Africa, aged 31, of Ewa Beach, passed away on January 6, 2026. Born on March 26, 1994, Zarad spent his early years in Ewa Beach and completed his education in Chicago, graduating from Lincoln Park High School. He later moved back home to Hawaii, where he pursued a career as a Carpenter Journeyman at Albert C. Kobayashi, Inc., dedicating himself to excellence in his craft.
Known for his bright and energetic personality, Zarad had a unique ability to light up any room with his laughter and singing. He was a person who deeply valued inclusivity and was always eager to help others reach their potential. His hobbies, which included singing, cooking, hiking, camping, dancing, and family bonding, were a testament to his love for life and the people around him.
Edgar is survived by his father, Edgar E. Africa; mother, Michelle Belmodis; sister, Chaelyn McKeown; and brothers, Thorne & Stone Africa, and Javen & Pierce Woods. He also leaves behind many cherished nieces and nephews. His brother, Troy Africa Shuman, and great-grandfather, Anthony Belmodis Sr., preceded him in death.
A celebration of Zarad’s life will be held on Sunday February 15th at Mililani Mortuary, Mauka Chapel, at 6 PM. Those who knew and loved him will gather to honor his memory and the indelible mark he left on their lives
