How you can help
Over the past year and a half, our dad, Eddie Aure, showed incredible strength as he battled lung cancer. Despite the toll that his illness took on his health, he continued to work when he could — thanks to the kindness of his employer, who offered light work so he could stay connected and earn what he could.
During this time, Dad also received SSDI income, but much of it went toward paying down debts he had accumulated before his diagnosis. After his passing, we learned that the financial strain had been heavier than we realized. In 2024, he was the victim of a devastating scam that wiped out his entire retirement fund. Sadly, he did not have a life insurance policy in place, leaving very little behind to cover his final expenses.
My siblings and I have come together to plan a simple and heartfelt memorial that reflects who our dad was — humble, hardworking, and deeply loved by all who knew him. We’ve done everything we can to keep costs as minimal as possible, but there are still expenses that remain uncovered.
We are asking for support from friends, family, and community members who wish to help us honor Eddie’s memory. Every contribution will go directly toward his celebration of life and memorial expenses, helping to ease the financial burden on our family as we lay him to rest.
