Ed was such an uplifting guy to work with. He got things done but took time to get to know all of his employees and coworkers.  I will cherish the memories of our days together at DSG. Love and prayers to you, Mike!
Mike, I  am so sorry for your loss. My heart goes out to you at this time. Prayers for you ❤️🙏.
Such a beautiful, amazing, crazy wild soul. I’m so happy to have had him a part of my life. The first memory to come to mind about Ed is not your usual “that one time he made me laugh” memory but of course that was Ed. It’s the time I told him I wanted a nipple piercing and he showed me his after a CrossFit WOD we had just finished and told me to get it done! Took me a while but I did it lol. That’s Ed for you, tells you to go and do the things you want to do and be your unapologetic self.

Michelle Blake
2018, Los Angeles, CA, USA
When we first moved back to LA, Ed and I planned a night out to celebrate.  We would start with refreshments at Plain Check…and after our mischief was managed Ed was going to come and stay at our place in silverlake.   We had our night being goofy, laughing, catching up, surely being inappropriate and loud and took a lyft back to my place. We ordered food … and suddenly like the flick of a switch, Ed got sad. We asked what was wrong and Ed, in his usual candid manner said “I miss Mikey. I think I want to go home” and while we waited for our Chinese food…for the next 16 straight minutes, Ed talked about how lucky he was to have found Mike and how much in love he was with his husband and how he cherished every moment with him…and right then, in that moment, he wanted to be home with him. Despite the beginning of the night starting with Mike and I agreeing that I had “full custody of Ed for the night”, we put Ed in a Lyft home around 1 am to the man that was his whole heart.

Ed was a special bright light of a person. He always lent an ear, sang and danced at the drop of a hat, thought to reach out to see how I was doing. The HRC gala with Ed, Mike and Michelle,  so many laughs and sillyness,  our weekend in Vegas, omg too much, and whenever I visited LA, Ed and Mike would host me and those mornings with coffee in their backyard and Ed would pop outside to greet me always with his infectious smile. We had so many laughs and I always felt welcome and loved. Mike, my heart breaks and I'm sending you hugs, love and prayers.

Ed was truly one of the most remarkable, warm, caring people I will ever know.  His energy and appetite for life was incredible.  He was a mentor, cheerleader, taskmaster, and one of the most open hearts that changed me for the better.  I will be forever grateful to him.

Ed was a joy to be around. I always enjoyed talking to him on the phone at DSG when our paths crossed. He always had nice things to say about me and everyone else.

Words can't express how sad this is. I'm so sorry Mike!
