  • Who else knew Ed?

Help keep everyone in the know by sharing this memorial website.

Personal note from Mike:

Thank you to everyone who has reached out over the last weeks. Although this is the most difficult time, knowing that Ed touched so many people’s hearts and lives, hearing from you, and receiving your messages and calls has been deeply comforting to me. Thank you.

Please use this site to keep in contact with me and to learn about the plans for celebrating Ed's life.

As you all know Ed was anything but conventional: he was larger than life, vibrant (ok, loud!), and the center of everything fun. He certainly would not expect us to follow formal rules or norms, but instead to be as irreverent as he was, so please share whatever memories and stories you feel reflect the "Ed" we all loved!

I want to laugh, I will cry, but I want to hear about him - outrageous, demanding, loving, and 100% committed to whatever or whoever attracted his attention. Please share freely!

Update from Sept. 16, 2023

Hello all,
There were a few people logged into Zoom for the CoL that I don't recognize and it would be great if you could let me know by emailing to smp2404@sbcglobal.net if you were one of them:
Dennis P
Laura Schwartz
17609724631 (I tried to text and call but it came up as an invalid number, but this is what was listed on zoom)
Thanks!
Mike

Update from Sept. 10, 2023

Thank you to all of the family and friends who attended Ed’s Celebration yesterday.

Please upload any photos or videos you took to this memorial website, so we can keep all our memories of him together in one place.

Thank you for all your love and support,

Update from Sept. 4, 2023

For virtual attendees for the Celebration coming up on Saturday, the Selfie backdrop is now available on the Memories page of this website. Thanks to Yulia for doing such a wonderful job. The real thing is MASSIVE and very impressive. And loud. And colorful. So.....the epitome of Ed-ness. To download, right click on the photo and "save as" to your computer or device.
Thanks!
Mike

Update from Sept. 2, 2023

For those of you attending VIRTUALLY Ed's Celebration of Life - next Saturday at 2 pm PDT - I was hoping to be able to send each of you a package before the event, but I've run out of time. Please email me your mailing address to smp2404@sbcglobal.net and I will send you the keepsakes. For the event, if you want to join in the fun, I will post the selfie backdrop to the memories section of this website for you to download, and have a pen and paper handy during the event.

Thanks,
Mike

Obituary

If Ed Hunter hadn’t been born, he would have to have been invented.

Born and raised in a dirty little beach town that nobody wanted to live in (Santa Monica!), he quickly developed a unique talent for being photogenic in any situation, even sitting on the potty.

Floyd and Teresa had him later in life, a good 17 years after their first son Leland(Jim) was born, and clearly didn’t know what to do with him. …
