Ebenezer's obituary

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Ebenezer "Eben" Agboka on April 16, 2023. Born on August 29, 1951, Ebenezer was a loving and devoted husband, father, and friend who touched the lives of many with his vibrant personality, boundless generosity, and unwavering kindness.

Ebenezer is survived by his loving wife, Lorna Agboka, to whom he was married for 43 years. He is also survived by his brothers Dr. Japheth Agboka, Dr. Joseph Agboka and Mr. David Agboka, many nieces and nephews and their families, cousins, and friends. His daughter, Christelle Agboka, and his son, Marc Agboka, will carry on his legacy and cherish the time they spent together as a family.

Known to his friends as Eben, he was a beacon of warmth and positivity in every room he entered. His caring and humorous nature was infectious, drawing many people toward him and forging lasting friendships. Ebenezer had the unique ability to make those around him feel valued and appreciated, and he will be greatly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.

A viewing for Ebenezer will take place on Sunday May 14, 2023, at 12:30 pm at the Community Worship Center Seventh-day Adventist Church (145-94 176th Street, Jamaica, NY), followed by the funeral service from 2:00 pm to 4:30 pm.

The internment will take place on Monday May 15, 2023. Guests will meet at the Community Worship Center at 9:30 am on the 15th, then proceed to Pine Lawn Cemetery (2030 Wellwood Avenue, Farmingdale, NY) for the burial service, which will begin at 10:00 am.

These services will be an opportunity for family, friends, and acquaintances to gather, remember, and celebrate the life of this remarkable individual.

As we remember Ebenezer Agboka, let us carry forward the lessons of compassion and care for others that he embodied during his life. His legacy of kindness and generosity will continue to impact the lives of all those who had the privilege of being touched by his incredible spirit, and his memory will forever live on in our hearts.
