Earl's obituary

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Earl "Bubba" Moody, who left us too soon on February 7, 2024. Born on March 31, 1967, Bubba, as he was affectionately known, was a man full of life and loved by many. However, he preferred to be called Earl, a name that carried an air of dignity and respect.

Earl is survived by his son, Robert Moody, his sisters, Kathy and Tina Moody, his brothers, James and Chris Moody, and his daughter-in-law, Amanda Moody. He is predeceased by his father, Earl Moody, his mother, Nancy Leavitt, and his sister, Varina Steele.

Earl was fond of simple pleasures and his favorite drinks consisted of Mountain Dew and a cup of good, old-fashioned coffee. Music was a big part of his life, particularly songs from Tom McDonald and Jellyroll, which he often enjoyed in solitude or in the company of his family and friends.

Earl was also a sports enthusiast, with his loyalties divided between the Carolina Panthers and Dallas Cowboys. He often spent time in front of his computer, deeply engrossed in his favorite games. Earl's recreational activities were closely tied to his family – he loved spending time with his grandkids and his son, Robert. As an individual who immensely enjoyed the outdoors, his preferred way of exercise was walking his dog.

Family was at the heart of his existence, and his love and care extended to his kids, grandkids, and beloved dog. Earl's favorite color was blue, a color that often matched his serene and calm nature.

Earl's passing is a deep loss for all those who knew him. As we mourn, let's remember Earl for who he was – a loving father, a caring brother, a devoted son, and above all, a kind-hearted individual who spread joy and laughter. He has left us physically, but his spirit and memories live on.
