E. Tianna's obituary

E. Tianna Crollett (nee Herburger)

Elaine Tianna Crollett, Age 64, passed on to a better place peacefully at her home in the company of her loving husband and family on July 28th in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

Tianna was born in Tucumcari, New Mexico on February 9, 1960, to Ted Herburger and Alice Keck. She grew up in Las Vegas, New Mexico with her younger brother Teddy Herburger and graduated from Robertson High School in 1978. She then received her degree in Anthropology from the University of New Mexico in 1985.

Tianna married her high school sweetheart, prom date, and love of her life Seferino Crollett, Jr. on November 7, 1985. Two beautiful children, Maggie and Seferino, III., arrived to complete the happy family.

Ever the archeologist, Tianna was a true adventurer at heart. She loved being outdoors hiking, camping, observing ruins, finding relics, or anything related to past or ancient Native American civilizations. She also loved all the natural beauties the world has to offer. After college she worked as a field archeologist throughout New Mexico and West Texas, then cofounded a successful archeological consulting business with a colleague. Most notably, she realized her dream of working on a Mayan site in Belize, Central America.

Tianna was a very bold, yet soft spoken, compassionate, and intelligent woman who made it impossible to not feel fondness for her even upon just meeting. Her generosity, hospitality, and true kindness had the ability to not only bring people together, but to bring light to the darkest of situations. We will all miss her happy, contagious smile but our warm memories of her will keep her with us.

She is survived by:

Husband, Seferino S Crollett Jr.; Children, Seferino Crollett III, Eva Marguerite Crollett; Parents, Ted Herburger and Alice Keck; Brother, Ted Herburger Jr. and Kimberly Herburger; Uncle and Aunt: Dr. Victor and Elizabeth Sanchez & Family, Joan Stern & Family; Many In-laws, Cousins, Nieces and Nephews

She was predeceased by:

Grandparents, Eloisa (Gramma) and Cecilio Sanchez, Jay (Bappi) and Eva (Day) Stern; Great Grandparents, Martin and Amalia Archuleta; Uncle, Jay D. Stern

A celebration of Tianna’s life will take place at the Alumni Chapel on the University of New Mexico campus at 11:00 AM on Saturday, September the 7th, 2024 with a reception following at the University Club.
