Dwayne's obituary

Dwayne Rodger Potter, age 63, entered his eternal rest on October 19, 2024 at his home surrounded by his family in Round Rock, Texas, after a long struggle with cancer. Dwayne was born August 14, 1961 in Illinois, to Dale Potter and Janette Cross. A beloved father and cherished friend, he touched the lives of many with his warmth, generosity, and infectious spirit.

Dwayne is survived by his son, Dustin Potter, his son’s wife, Sara Potter, and his daughter, Nicole Francis. He shared a deep love and connection with each of them, and his presence will be profoundly missed. Dwayne is preceded in death by his siblings, Janice Young, Sherry Potter, David Potter, Wendy Potter, and his parents, Dale Potter and Janette Cross.

Known for his vibrant personality, Dwayne found joy at the race track, local restaurants, and during lively festivals, including Burning Flipside. Dwayne made friends anywhere he went, he was loved by many in the community, always ready with a smile and a kind word.

In his spare time, Dwayne enjoyed restoring cars, pouring his heart into each project. He loved watching TV, binging shows from any streaming service he has. Dwayne also had a green thumb, with a beautiful garden and always surrounded by green happy plants.

Dwayne always dreamed of getting patents for his hard work. He achieved his life dream on Christmas eve in 2002 while working at Dell. Dwayne went on to obtain four more patents proving his dedication to his work.

As we mourn Dwayne's passing, we choose to celebrate his life and honor his memory. His life was a testament to his strong will and unwavering spirit, even in the face of adversity. Dwayne's resilience and strength will forever be an inspiration for those he leaves behind.

We ask that you remember Dwayne not with sorrow, but with the joy that he brought into our lives. His memory will forever be a guiding light in our hearts. May his soul rest in eternal peace.
