My sincere condolences to the loved ones of the late Duncan Lear. It seems he was a driven, yet understated man that lived life to its fullest and sadly left too soon. It is good to know who he was. I will take care of the E63 as he obviously did. Sedans make it easy to access the cooler in the back seat. May God keep you Mr. Lear.

Duncan was such a kind soul. I wish we all had so much more time with you. Grateful for the memories that we had with you. You always made me laugh and were truly a gentleman.
I hope that you and Mike are together sharing a pint, talking about cars and with your loved ones. May you rest in peace dear Duncan.Â

I happened to come across Duncan's obit and I'm so deeply sad to hear this news. My condolences to his loved ones.
I was trying to find his contact information to let him know that my mom recently passed, so learning that he passed two weeks before her was a shock.
My parents were friends with Joan and Jim and were part of a broader group of couples (and therefore, families) who were mostly recent immigrants from various European countries. Growing up, I loved spending time with Duncan and his parents. He and I were childhood friends and I remember him so fondly - he was kind, gentle, and easy to be with.
In fact, I thought he was so great that he was the first guy I ever asked out on a date. We must have been in late middle/early high school because it was a weekend afternoon and my mom drove us. I think we went to the ROM? Oh my. No wonder he didn't seem to realize it was a date!
We lost touch over the years and I hadn't seen him for decades although he'd seen my parents, usually at the opera. A few years ago, prior to covid, I happened to be in LA and I noticed huge opera banners on street lights so I reached out to my parents who gave me his contact information. He was able to get tickets for my friends and I, and we had a 5 minute visit after the show. I was so, so happy to see him but then we lost touch again. Randomly, I spent many summers on Big Hawk Lake at Camp Kawabi in the 80s. It's wild to think we may have been on the lake at the same time.
I'm so sorry his life took the turn that it did but I'm grateful to the McTeague family and others who loved him through it all.

I met Duncan in a bar in Barbados, as you do! We then met up in New York, Barcelona, Paris, Orangeville and here in Norfolk UK. He was always the most excellent company. I will miss his sense of humour and gentle spirit. Andrew OgdenÂ

I have many fond memories of Duncan, mostly through the Victoria Scholars and our shared passion for cars. He’ll be missed. Thanks for organizing the celebration, Rob and Yvonne.

I'll always remember Duncan's infectious laugh and cheeky sense of humour. He was a lovely guy and great fun to be around!
He was also a superb first tenor and someone I looked up to when we were students together at St. Michael's Choir School and he helped enormously with the Victoria Scholars Men's Choral Ensemble during our early years, especially on tour to Paradise Island, Bahamas. A memorable trip!
My sincerest condolences to all his friends and family.
