Dewey's obituary

Dulonn Louis Jefferson was born November 20, 1948 to Herman and Laureen Jefferson in Tempe, Arizona. He grew up on the road with his parents following the horse racing circuit. Per his request he finished the last four years of schooling at Flowing Wells High School in Tucson, Arizona. This is where Dewey met the love of his life, Dana, during her senior year of high school and married right after graduation. They were married for 57 years.   December of 1967 he received his draft notice and joined the US Navy where he served 4 years during the Vietnam war, 1967 - 1971 and was honorably discharged.

After various jobs, in February 1973, he joined the Operating Engineers Local 428 and became an crane operator. He was very passionate about his career choice and gave 41 years without a single accident before retiring in 2014.

His passion didn't stop with retirement. He became actively integrated with the American Legion Post #9 in Florence, the motorcycle group Widow's Sons and most embedded as a Free Mason. Dewey rose through the positions quickly becoming a Master Mason at the Gila Valley Blue Lodge in Florence. He became Worshipful Master of the White Mountain Lodge in Globe, Arizona.

He is survived by his wife, Dana, daughter Denise (Barry) Winters, grandchildren Hayden Winters, Baylee (Clayton) Piepenbrink, Beau Fernino  senior Airman Brygan Fernino, and great-grand children Maddox and Lainey Winters.

Dewey Jefferson was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and human being that had a heart of gold to help anyone who needed help.
