Duff and I played clarinet together in the Cal Band decades ago. He was a great guy then and I regret we didn't maintain a friendship after leaving Cal. My condolences to his loving family.
We are deeply saddened to learn of Duff's passing. Duff was one of the first people we met when we started working with Mogul Ski Club and we enjoyed many lunches and great runs with him. He is remembered fondly as "forever young" and will always be in our hearts. Our deepest condolences to Claire, Sarah and Shannon and their families.
Duff was my cousin, probably a third cousin since both of our babas (grandmothers) came from Trebinje, Herzegovina. Members of the Danilovich clan intermarried with Miladinovich folks. My baba, who was a Miladinovich, married Lazar Skulich when she came to this country. Baba Danilovich and my baba were friends, living in Jackson Gate, California. I spent many an hour in Baba Danilovich's kitchen playing with Duff's younger sister Jeanie; exchanging profane words we learned by listening to conversations not intended for our ears! :) I am five years younger than Duff, and I remember that my mother held him up as an example of a successful student and citizen, an exceptional star among other bright and shining stars. And he was. Duff was a great man who I was privileged to know and love. I have no doubt that his light lives on in his children and grandchildren, and in many of the students for whom he was "Mr. Danilovich." My love to his family, all.
