Duane's obituary

It is with deepest sorrow that we announce the passing of Duane Nichols Jr., born on December 24, 1985, who left us too soon on April 13, 2025. A man known by many but preferred by his closest to be called Duane, his absence has created a void that can never be filled.

Duane is survived by his beloved wife, Shana Nichols, who was his rock in turbid times and his joy in times of happiness. He was the proud father of four beautiful children, Sons - Jordan Nichols and Duane Nichols III, and Daughters - Sierra Nichols and Joyce Nichols, the cherubs of his life. His brother, Jonathan Hawkins, also mourns his loss, reminiscing about their shared childhood. He now joins his dearly missed mother, Joyce Hawkins, in eternal rest.

Remembered for his humor, hard work, love, and dedication to his family, Duane was a man who relished the simple joys in life. His pleasure was found in the crunch of Pizza, the spiciness of Wings, the play of the Dallas Cowboys, and the depth of Red, his favorite color. His personality was a beacon of light that radiated into the lives of those around him.

Duane was a professional achiever and held managerial positions at several different establishments, testifying to his hard work and persistence. Yet, his greatest accomplishment was the love he implanted in the hearts of all those he met. His legacy, therefore, is a lesson of caring for others, a testament to the selfless man he was.

We invite you to join us in remembrance of Duane, to share stories and to celebrate the life of a man who has touched so many lives with his unfading humor and his unending care. May his soul rest in eternal peace.
