Hello All,

One of the fun times we had with Duane, was a wicked cold weekday, in the winter of ‘23/‘24, when Duane was sharing his stories, about his beautiful and beloved skis, hanging in the indoor racks, in the Ragged Mtn Snow/Ski School room. He seemed so happy, to make others so happy, to learn new ideas and new information, about skis, the ski industry, and life.

Warmly, from SW Florida, Betsy Thayer

Duane, Was my  Husband Gerry, first  over the road Partner  with UPS, they had a father son relationship !  When they returned from there run back to UPS , Duane would say to Gerry “ Go straight Home”!!! He sadly missed!!   Gerry and Nancy.    A Great Guy!!!!

Duane loved everything active, hunting, fishing, ATVing, skiing, boating, spending time with family, cooking. You name it Duane loved it .
I had the most fun with Duane sharing a beer!! It was at his house in Danbury, which we booked as an Airbnb during the Xmas vacation of 2022. We were part of the Ragged Ski Team and booked a stay for a long weekend.

Duane and Patty were amazing, and Duane took the time to come down in the basement were our rooms were, chat with us, get to know us and share a well deserved beer after a full day of ski. He was gracious, generous, funny - great all around.

He also bought me a manual ski tunner when I told him stories about ski tunning struggles. Always looking out for others.

KC and Xavier - your grandad was a legend. You should be proud!

Duane, Duane, Duane…. What to say about Duane

Well he loved life, adventures, being active and his friends and family.

What didn’t he do, skiing, boating, fishing, hunting, racing, camping, ATVing and being with his family. He is an amazing husband, father, brother, best friend but the best thing he loved doing the most was being a papa.

My husband  was a selfless and generous man who would help anyone that needed it but frowned upon people who took advantage of him.

He loved watching children excel at all of their desires, he turned out many amazing skiers and racers.

We hope to share more of Duane’s life and for you to share your memories with us at Ragged Mountain Resirt, Danbury, NH Saturday June 15th,   12-4.  Let’s pray for a nice day so we can enjoy the outdoors where Duane would have been.

There will be table’s throughout Ragged of the many lives of Duane, stop by and check them out and share a memory with someone that hasn’t experienced the life that you experienced with Duane. I bet there will be some great stories being told.

Schedule:

12-1 Grab  a drink, share a story and see the many lives of Duane tables.

1-1:30 Welcome

1:30-3:00 Food and socializing

3:00-4:00  Baileys send off (Duane’s drink of choice)

If you are unable to make the celebration of life I ask if you have any photos or stories you would like to share please do. I will be making a memory book for the immediate family and grandkids to have for their own.

We hope to see as many there, please if possible RSVP .
