I was sorry to hear of Dick's passing.  We grew up next door to each other on Lennox Drive in Binghamton, NY.  We attended McArthur JHS together then he attended the new Catholic Central HS and I the public school, Central.  We spent many hours playing basketball together on their front driveway, skiing down the backyards.  And then at college breaks, we would head up to local skiing centers like Greek Peak.

Our families were close.  Our dads bowled together at the Binghamton Club, and when it came time for the championship bowl off, Charley would give my dad a shot of steroids in his elbow area so my dad would not feel the pain from an old broken elbow (the result of a toboggan mishap) while bowling.

Dick had a remarkable perseverance in his goal of a medical career.  If memory serves right, he got his bachelor's degree from Villanova and a master's degree as well prior to medical school.

He was a good person and friend.  My condolences to Carol, Mary Kay, Theresa and their families.
