Background
I truly do not know where to start. Pedro was a Dr. who devoted his life to helping others often times free of cost and the church. He was a loving husband of nearly 50 years, father, brother and grandfather. A few months ago we found out the he had cancer. Despite treatments that cancer rapidly spread eventually getting into his blood. He leaves behind his wife of nearly 50 years, 3 sons and 2 daughters and several grandchildren. As we know medical expenses for treatments and funerals have risen and he was the primary financial source .
He legally came to the U.S. and brought his wife and 2 of his eldest sons where he was able to obtain bachelors degrees that became of no use to him because he was told his accent was still a little strong and he was too old. He was unable to practice medicine in the U.S. which was his passion. He began helping people in other ways.
This man was so devoted to his family. He was the type of person that no matter his financial situation if someone was in need, he would find a way to help out even if that meant giving his shirt off his back. The word “no” was not in his vocabulary.
Now that he has left this world sooner than anticipated we are trying to give him the burial and the funeral he deserves however it has been extremely difficult financially.
Asking for help is not something he or his wife would ever do (in fact I know he would be upset with me) but they are in desperate need as are their children left behind who have done their best in supporting their parents financially during this time. We all have been.
Please find it in your heart to help us out. We do not know what the future holds but we can only pray for now we are able to give this man a burial and funeral he deserves.
No amount is too small. Any monetary donation would mean the world to his wife and the family.
He is my sons grandfather and my son adored him. Sammy was the first grandson and was present when Dr. Herrera passed away as where his children.
