Flashback to 1995. Ghana is hit with its perennial yearly natural disaster. Massive flooding in Accra had resulted in loss of human life and extensive property destruction estimated in millions of dollars.
The National Council of Ghana Association sets up a Ghana Disaster Relief Fund to canvass for cash and relief materials to aid the victims.
Dr Leonard Kaledzi is chosen to lead the team. The patriot, philanthropist and work horse that he is, Dr Kaledzi drives the fund to raise over $250,000 in cash and materials which were presented to Ghana’s Ambassador to the UN Dr George Lamptey in New York in October 1995.
This is but just one of the man’s gift of his time, treasures and talents to the nation and people he so dearly loved.
The great Doctor always had a smile on his face
Oh ! Dear Uncle Leo
Exactly a week ago today you passed on
You are such a great man and a humble person . You will surely be missed . May God grant you the perfect rest . I remembered vividly our little escapades we had in London .Paris and Ghana.
Rest in perfect peace
You touched my heart and my family too
And I had the privilege of being your in law too .
Our sincere condolences to the family
I am deeply shaken by this news. My deepest condolences to his beautiful wife and family. Doc was the most amazing, gentle, kind, humble and giving human beings. He had an inate ability to impact you in such a positive way from just the first encounter. He accepted me as one of his daughters, as I know there were many of us in the industry (pharmaceutical). He helped in way he could  but his kind reception of us was more than enough. His name was synonymous with positivity and generosity. He will be greatly missed and forever loved. Rest in peace Doc!
When I must leave you for a little while,
Please do not grieve and shed wild tears
And hug your sorrow to you through the years,
But start out bravely with a gallant smile;
And for my sake and in my name
Live on and do all things the same,
Feed not your loneliness on empty days,
But fill each waking hour in useful ways,
Reach out you hand in comfort and in cheer
And I in turn will comfort you and hold you near;
And never, never be afraid to die,
For I am waiting for you in the sky!
