Innocent's obituary
Ahamefula Innocent Iroetugo led a life well-lived in multiple senses of the term.
Born 64 years ago to Hezekiah Ojiogu Iroetugo and Susanah Odiche Iroetugo, he led a life of giving in both his chosen profession, medicine and life in general
He obtained his medical degree at the College of Medicine, University of Ibadan, Nigeria. He bestowed his generosity on people with magnanimous dedication to medical philanthropy. His distinguished medical career spanned dedicated spadework in both Nigeria and the USA. He was an internist and was affiliated with various hospitals over the span of a career in the United States, the longest of which is High Point Medical Center in High Point, North Carolina.
For people who did not know Ahamefula, their mental picture of him may be of a taciturn charmer with a stethoscope; he was more than that. He took many lessons of his father, Hezekiah’s philanthropy to heart, and fluttered pulses with his magnanimity. He endowed scholarships in education.
He was dedicated to giving back to the community what he earned in his career in medicine, which spanned over 40 years.
He is survived by his wife Nneoma, daughter, Adanna, brothers, sisters, cousins, nephews, nieces, uncles, and aunts.
