Dr. George's obituary

Dr. George Neal Valley, Phoenix, AZ returned home November 16, 2025 and was reunited with his beloved wife, Franny. George joins his mom and dad, Dorothy and George, his sister Tammie, and grandson Divin.

Born May 2, 1938 in Muskegon, MI where, for the first 10 years, he enjoyed the undivided attention of both his mom and dad. Over the following 8 years, George was joined by his little sister (Tammie) and two brothers (Ed and Pat). In 1961, George married Franny Kline and the two would begin their lifetime journey of medical school, starting a practice, raising their six children, and opening their home to many in their extended family. Their journey would take them from Michigan to Des Moines, IA, Scarborough, ME, Tulsa, OK, and finally Phoenix, AZ.

Despite being a self-proclaimed “poor student”, George spent his working life as both a pharmacist and physician! He was a positive soul and often entertained those he greeted with his many “George-isms” resulting in smiles and laughter. During his later years, George relied on his family and faith, which in his final days gave him comfort and peace.

George is survived by brothers Ed (Judy) and Pat (Carol), daughter Sheila McBrinn (Bob), daughter Therese Sanchez (Troy ✚), son Jim (Patrice), son Joe (Joanna), daughter Stasia Stoffey (Mike), son Tom (Paula), grandchildren Gabe, Olivia, Matt, Emma, Jack, Nick,Ashley, and Alyssa, and five great grandchildren.

A celebration of life is planned for January 9, 2026 @ 10:00 at St Francis Xavier Catholic Church, 4715 N. Central Ave Phoenix, AZ 85012. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Huntington’s Disease Society of America 505 Eighth Avenue, Suite 1402, New York, NY 10018, www.hdsa.org.
