I came from Haiti in February of1973 and landed in Norwalk, Connecticut. One of the first people I met was Ernst. He was the only driving, so a group of us Haitian teenagers would pile up in the back of Ernst's father's red Ford 150 or the Pontiac Station Wagon and go visit new friends or come to my house for an instant party. We were coming from visiting some new friends in Stamford when we stopped at KFC. Ernst bought me a two-piece meal with a Dr Pepper. I went to the Army in 1974 and we lost contact. We reconnected in 2022 and had planned to stay in contact and travel to Florida together. For a while now, I have been having the KFC meal once a month and remembering this kind, smart and gentle soul. I thank God for having placed me in Ernst's circle albeit for a short period of time.
Dr.  Cebert was a kind compassionate colleague and friend. He always greeted me with a genuine smile and hug and "Hello young lady, how are you doing?" It has been an honor to work with him on funded projects, to learn from him and moreover to witness his servant's heart and goodness firsthand. I pray that GOD continues to keep his family and bless them with divine comfort and peace during this time of transition in JESUS' name.
