Dr. B. K. Kolhe, 87 yrs old, of Nagpur, Maharashtra, India, passed away on May 13, 2022.

Dr. B. K. Kolhe was born on October 17, 1935 to Janabai & Kashiram in Takarkhed. After graduating from Shelgao Bazar High school, he went on to study Applied Mechanics at V. R. C. E, Nagpur. He continued his education quest to get a Ph.D. from the most premier institution in India, I.I.T., Bombay. After graduation, he landed his first job as a lecturer for College of Engieering, Pune. In 1964, he met Rajani, and they wed in the same year, going on to have three children, Smita, Rajendra, and Jayant.


Dr. B. K. Kolhe was a force of nature, determined to provide for his family and give them the life he felt they deserved. His family meant more to him than anything else in the world, something he often mentioned. He was unendingly proud of all his children, and their spouses, and Rajani and always tried his best to support them.


Dr. B. K. Kolhe was also a passionate educator and could often be found at college when he wasn’t at home.


Anyone who knew Dr. B. K. Kolhe knew that he was a trailblazor, first one to be educated from not just his family, but his entire village going on to pursue Ph.D.  Dr. B. K. Kolhe was predeceased by Mrs. Rajani Kolhe. He is survived by Smita, Rajendra, Jayant and their families.
