Dr. Nita. I am so sorry that I couldn’t keep up with you two. I do understand you took great care of Dr. Doug and o was taking care of my sweet Farrel that I lost to advanced Alzheimer’s 1/15/24. We both loved you each dearly and appreciated you for taking care of our eyes. We always cry because we miss them but not because they are gone to a better place.

So sorry to hear about Dr. Wood, he was the very best !!!!

Deepest sympathy to the family on the loss of a fine gentleman.  We have fond memories of Doug from Friends in Faith Sunday School and ASU athletic events.  He will be missed but not forgotten.

Neta, Stephanie and Douglas, I was so sorry to hear about Doug’s passing and want you to know I have you in my prayers.  I pray God gives you strength and peace during this difficult time. I will always remember Doug with a big smile and his love for his family.  Love always, your cousin,

Lisa  Finton. Creasey

Doug and I were pledge brothers and roommates for 2 years.  He was a wonderful brother and and I will miss him.  Phi Phi KA A.  Ray Blaney

Our friendship with Doug dates back to the late 60’s. He & Steve often reminisced about the 1 year they played on the same high school basketball team in Little Rock. Through the years we shared our mutual loyalty to Arkansas State & Doug became our family optometrist. We sat side by side in Sunday School at FUMC Jonesboro on a weekly basis. Doug was a true “Friend in Faith.”
I’m so sad to hear this, he was such a sweet man and an awesome eye doctor, after moving away, I’m still struggling to find an eye doctor to live up to him!!

Dr. Doug became my eye doctor when I was in college. He and Dr. Neta had just opened their clinic. I was on my own and worked at Burger King. I did not feel I could afford a new pair of glasses so we talked about it and decided I could pay $5 a week.  This was before any kind of credit companies helped with these types of expenses.  That level of trust in a college student endeared me to him forever.

I paid off those glasses with our agreed upon arrangement and he told me I could always get glasses from him and he would be a credit reference for me for the rest of my life. ❤️

That was the kindhearted man with a beautiful soul that I knew.  RIP Dr Doug.

I loved Doug  so much.  He was a great friend.  He came to Cabot and attended my grandsons funeral  what a man  he was wonderful
Dr. Doug was my eye doctor for many years. I'm so sorry to learn of his loss.  He was a wonderful man.
Dr. Doug was one of a kind. He always made you feel like you had someone in your corner. He was the best employer and while working with him became one of my friends. He will never be forgotten. My thoughts and prayer are with his family and all who loved him.
Dear Wood Family, We we’re so pleased to have met and gotten to know Doug.  His smile and fun loving nature were palpable to all those around him. Traits that are lovingly passed to his children and grandchildren.  He will be missed. Much love to you all, the Fitzgerald Family
