Douglas's obituary
Doug died 1/30/2019. Doug is survived by his wife Susan, and his daughter Cindy Weiss of Davenport. Doug lost his son, Scott, in 2016. He has 3 granddaughters, Christina Shedd of Lakeland, Tabitha El Yamani of Orlando and Amber Watts of Davenport. Through love, Doug gained a step-daughter Amy of Colorado, step-grandchildren. Camille Ouellette of Winter haven, Curie Ranard of Lakeland, Noam Weiss of West Palm Beach, Moar Weiss of West Palm Beach, Elizabeth of Lakeland, Casey and Abigail of Colorado, along with great-grandchildren Lily and Laric Ouellette of Winter Haven, Traci and Jason Shedd of Lakeland, and Gabe and Seth of West Palm Beach. Doug was of Native American decent, which showed within his children. Doug and Scott shared a love of flying. They could be found at SUN ‘N FUN, or Top Gun. He would design his own planes and passed his blueprints off to his son while sharing a beer from time to time. It is believed that Doug and Scott are flying their planes now, enjoying each other’s company, while reflecting on their memories. He worked for the property appraisers office of Polk County and being fond of mallard ducks would keep wooden ones on his desk. He is described as a “kind and gentle person” which could be seen in his eyes and smile. Visitation Monday, Feb 18 from 1-2 PM. Services at 2 PM at Family Worship Center.
