Doug was only 57 years old when he was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer from seemingly out of nowhere. Like many people, his funds had been completely exhausted paying for treatment to fight his disease. When he hadn't long left, he and his wife had to borrow and scrape together whatever they could get so that he could pass away in dignity. Hospice workers helped make sure my father was cared for when his wife could not stop working to pay their bills and provide the comfort he needed to ease his passage.
